The goal to make our programs fun as well as informative, where learning about Birds of Prey is a very thought provoking experience. This program is not only perfect for schools, but a great fit for conferences, meetings and social gatherings that would like provide a unique and fascinating form of educational entertainment.

Wings to Soar's Raptor program gives an in dept lesson on Birds of Prey as Biology, Ornithology, and Ecology is woven into the program. The goal to make our programs fun as well as informative, where learning about Birds of Prey is a very thought provoking experience. This program is not only perfect for schools, but a great fit for conferences, meetings and social gatherings that would like provide a unique and fascinating form of educational entertainment.
Our Programs typically last 45-60 minutes, and we are open to any venue that is interested in having lots of fun learning about Birds of Prey, and we enthusiastically travel throughout the United States to raise awareness.
Our Base price is $375 for two programs at the same location.
We do add additional travel costs for any program over 50 miles from our facility. Their will also be a $50.00 added cost for each additional program. If you have a big enough space, we can accommodate up to 500 students per program.

Wings To Awareness interactive programs
The Wings to Awareness Interactive program is a perfect fit for classrooms and younger students.
This allows students to have a more intimate and up close educational experience with the raptors.
Wings to Soar will bring Owls, a Red-Tailed Hawk, a very fun Black Vulture and a small Falcon to your Classroom. The Students may touch the owls to feel their soft feathers and the habitat of each bird, hunting techniques and what they eat in the wild, will be discussed. In addition, the students will view the intricate aspects of the birds physic that aid in their succeed in the wild. ( feathers, feet, and the structure of an owls ear are just a few examples)
To really grab the students attention, we demonstrate the dynamics of flight and free fly a few
of the smaller birds. ( always a favorite with the students)
Plus, as we teach our lesson the students will be able to examine owl pellets and raptor feathers.
The program typically lasts an hour, but we are flexible and can fit any time frame.

Raptor Training Workshop :
Wings to Soar offers an extensive and informative raptor training workshop. The workshop is for individuals interested in gaining comprehensive knowledge on the care, training, and utilization of birds of prey for outreach programs.
When considering working with birds of prey it is of the utmost importance to be well versed and knowledgeable about their special needs and behaviors. We can come to your location and conduct the workshop, or look for future workshops in Chattanooga Tn.
There are many intricate and important details that need to be followed when working with raptors to ensure the healthiest situation for both the raptors and the humans interacting with them.
Our goal is to facilitate an environment for educators and caregivers to use common sense and compassion when interacting with birds of prey.
This two-day workshop will orient both the beginning and more experienced raptor handler to the more detailed aspects of caring for and training captive birds for educational purposes.

John Stokes and Dale Kernahan of Wings to Soar bring their combined 65 years of experience to share their knowledge as raptor caregivers, handlers and educators.
Alix Parks- Alix has been a licensed Raptor Rehabilitator since 2010 and saves over 150 raptors per year.
Alix will utilize her years of experience and state of the art knowledge to deliver an informative approach to Raptor Rehabilitation. Alix is a State and Federally licensed for Class II Wildlife and Raptor Specialist.

John and Dale utilize their 58 years of combined experience to help your organization or State Park to be well informed on bird handling and training techniques, husbandry, and enclosure specifications. It is extremely important for the safety of your staff, and the raptors in your care for individuals to be highly trained and comfortable when working with Birds of Prey.

2. Proper Raptor handling and operant training techniques.
3. Bird care- husbandry 101- essentials in diet , perching, enclosure specifications, and how to keep your bird healthy (coping,trimming talons, physical checks) Restraining raptors and weight assessment. Equipment making(Jesses, Leashes, wraping perches). Preparing traveling crate and crating the raptor, transportation.
4. Medical care- Basic exam procedures, How to spot health issues (diseases, bumble foot, feather problems),
how to deal with emergency situations and treating a raptor's health issues.
5. Learning raptor body language, and behavioral training.
6. Crafting your outreach programs and how to maximize your program potential. Public and bird interaction how to keep your programs fun and safe.
